Most people love the Fall/Winter months, because it is a good time to wear cute sweaters (that is why we call it “sweater weather”). But you only get one opportunity to make a good first impression, so why waste your outfit when your face is blotchy and flaky? Truth is, the extreme temperature contrast between the roaring heaters in our cars/buildings and the freezing temperatures outdoors lead to dry and dehydrated skin. Not so attractive, is it? And if you thought that you lucked out because you get to bask in the warm climate found in Vegas, Miami or L.A, think again. The blasting air conditioners indoors combined with the humidity outdoors dries skin out just the same. But fear not, with these homemade (and natural) facial masks, you can say goodbye to leaving makeup stains on your du jour’s pillow and hello to those oh-so-cute knits.

And, while our manly men probably do not want to be caught in a facial mask, their skin dries out, too! The good news,f or you fellas, is that you probably already have these ingredients in your kitchen, so just lock yourself away for 10 minutes, with these masks, and watch how females beg to nuzzle your baby-soft skin!

Coffee and Cocoa Mask
These ingredients (and aromas!) are so yummy that it is hard to believe that they could be good for you, without being ingested! If you already made a pot of coffee, you can always use your freshly brewed coffee beans (but make sure you finely grind them, so they do not leave your face all scratched up!). The main ingredient for hydrating dehydrated skin is oil (like olive oil), but if you prefer an actual paste, then dairy (like plain- never flavored- yogurt) is the best solution for you! Four tablespoons of your basic cocoa powder (like Hershey) mixed together with four tablespoons of finely ground (or even instant) coffee beans is all you need for this rejuvenating mask! Remember that if the coffee beans are already brewed, you will have less caffeine! Combine this deliciousness with eight tablespoons of plain yogurt (for a paste) or olive oil (for dehydrated skin). Use less oil for a less runny mask (about four tablespoons). Apply to your face and neck for 10-15 minutes and not only will the caffeine reduce puffiness (hello, hangover cure!), but this mask will also brighten the skin and amp up its Autumn dullness!

Oatmeal Mask
Breakfast just became even more important with the creation of this hydrating mask! Just cook a cup of oatmeal in half a cup of warm water (until it forms a paste), add two tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of plain yogurt and one egg white, and you have yourself a recipe for fabulous, glowing skin! Just a thin layer applied 15 minutes a day is all you need to kiss your concealer adiós (and to stop looking like a pumpkin, from caking on so much makeup!).

Egg White Face Mask
Before you do away with your eggs and yogurt from your oatmeal mask (or your breakfast!), be sure to moisturize your skin with this quick, easy (and refreshing!) mask. Separate two egg whites from their yolks and combine with two tablespoons of plain yogurt. Leave this on for 10-15 minutes a day, and you will be glowing in no time!

Pumpkin Face Mask
This hydrating mask could not have come at a better time! We all love to devour pumpkin pie during this season, but did you know that pumpkins are loaded with antioxidants? So not only are they good for our insides, they can brighten the dull complexion that results from a lack of sunshine. Combine half a cup of puréed pumpkin pulp with two eggs, two teaspoons of honey, two teaspoons of almond milk and one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to get beautiful, glowing skin, after just 15-20 minutes a day!

While it is true that you only get one chance to make a good first impression, a pretty face hardly trumps an ugly attitude, so make sure to apply kindness, along with your facial mask, daily!
