I don’t know about you, but every time I go on Pinterest I see more about essential oils than anything else.   Of course essential oils are nothing new and have been around forever but they have regained popularity in the past few years.     . This in itself sounds overwhelming.   I find it easiest to find a problem and then an oil to go along with it. You can eventually replace your entire medicine cabinet with a handful of oils.


  1. Quality Matters

    . You should look for pure single organic essential oils.   Look for oils that are stored in a dark glass bottle – this is a good indicator of the quality. Also important are non-adultered oils. Adulterated oils contain synthetic chemicals or compounds, which can be dangerous to our bodies.


  1. Oils have more than one benefit

    . Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifoliais) has over 80 uses.   Some of the most common are: treats acne, antiseptic on small cuts, and prevents fleas on pets.


  1. Essential oils good for both mental and physical well-being

    . You can find an essential oil that is good for boosting your mood, relieving headaches, and easing stomach pain. There are also more benefits than side effects when it comes to using essential oils.


  1. Some oils are pricier than others

    . Citrus oils seem to be the least expensive.   For example, you may pay $90 for a 15mL bottle of Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) and only $15 for the same amount of Lemon (Citrus limon) essential oil. 15 mL is 450 drops and most of the time you only need a drop or two.

    . You can ingest, breathe the vapors, or apply topically.
